Some Frequently Asked Questions

Do you load the car or drive my things?

No. We drop empty totes and later pick up empty totes. Packing, loading, driving, and unloading are yours — or whoever you hire. We are not the movers.

Where do you pick the totes up?

At the new address you provided, after you’re unpacked. Leave the empty totes stacked where we can reach them.

What if the two addresses are far apart?

We're here to help you move within the Baltimore region. If you are moving further away, no problem. Let us know and we can coordinate pick up.

How many totes does an apartment need?

A studio is often 8–15 medium totes. A one-bedroom is often 15–25. Kitchens and books run heavier than clothes, so mix in small totes for anything delicate.

What if a tote is damaged during the move?

No worries. We understand accidents happen. Let us know at drop off so we can remove the tote from other scheduled moves.

What if I need more time to unpack?

Not a problem. Extensions can be scheduled on a daily basis.

Terms and Conditions

Effective October 6, 2026. This is the rental agreement between you and Totely Simple. By booking, paying, or accepting delivery, you agree to it.

The service

Totely Simple rents empty packing totes. We drop them off at the address you give and later pick up empty totes at the return address you give. We do not pack, load, drive, unload, or move your belongings. You, or movers you hire, move the totes. Current weekly packages are Small (10 totes, $49), Medium (25 totes, $99), and Large (50 totes, $149). Drop-off and empty pickup in the Baltimore service area are included for the booked period.

Nothing illegal

You may use the totes only to pack and move lawful goods. You will not use the service, the website, or any tote for any unlawful purpose. You will not place in a tote, or use a tote to move or hide, illegal drugs, stolen property, unlawful weapons or explosives, hazardous or flammable materials, perishable food, or live animals. We may cancel a rental and notify law enforcement if we reasonably believe a tote or the service is being used illegally.

Returns and late return

The rental ends on the scheduled empty-pickup date unless we confirm a new date. Totes must be empty, lids on, and stacked where we can reach them. If they are not ready, still contain property, or are not all present, we may leave without taking them and the rental continues.

If the empty totes are not returned on time, you authorize us to charge the card on file automatically for the additional time, without further notice. The additional-time charge is the daily rate for your package, the weekly price divided by 7 and rounded up, for each day or partial day until the empty totes are picked up. We may instead charge the full weekly package price again for each additional week or partial week.

Failure to return and excessive damage

If a tote or lid is not returned within 14 days after the scheduled pickup, or comes back short, you agree we may automatically charge the card on file $35 for each missing tote and $12 for each missing lid, plus unpaid rental. Excessive damage — a crack, hole, broken handle, missing or warped lid, or a permanent stain or odor — may be charged the same way after pickup inspection. Ordinary move scuffs are included. A cleaning or odor fee is $15 per tote.

Card on file

You authorize Totely Simple and its payment processor to store your card and to charge it for the booked package, additional time, failed returns, excessive damage, and disclosed trip fees. These charges may repeat while totes remain out. If a charge is declined, you still owe the amount.

Liability

You are responsible for packing, lifting, loading, transporting, and unloading, and for anyone who helps you. Totely Simple is not a mover and does not take custody of your belongings. To the fullest extent allowed by Maryland law, the service and totes are provided as is, and our total liability for a rental will not exceed the amount you paid for that rental. You will cover us against claims arising out of your move, your goods, illegal use, or a failed return. Some liability, including gross negligence or intentional misconduct, cannot be waived where Maryland law does not allow it.

Law

Maryland law governs this agreement. Disputes are brought in the state courts of Baltimore City or Baltimore County. Questions: thebaltimoretotecompany@gmail.com.
